Wow, great spotting! Actually, I stalked the thread. MalinViktoria We love them, and obviously they'll look nicer once they're clean too! They look pretty damn nice now. Can't wait to see them clean. Re: Building in Fernvale - Ugly aircon vent 445May 17, 2013 7:01 pm Aaah, makes sense! Yeah, I can't wait to see them all nice and shiny, hopefully their "builder's clean" includes this. Finally! So glad to have it out of the way! We're getting black curtains in the master bedroom, chocolate in the studio, latte in the living room, dining room and bedrooms, cream roller blinds in the study and living room, and white roller blinds in the bathroom and ensuite. Pretty happy with the selection. And I'm getting it all for under $500! Also, I was supposed to have surgery today, but they cancelled it, and now I'm rescheduled for the 31st May. Not happy about this as it will be 3 days before handover and I won't be well for the moving. Also won't be able to celebrate with champagne, boo! $500 OMG bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! boo to reschedule of surgery...can you reschedule again for a later date after moving in date and you have had an actual chance to enjoy the new house?? Re: Building in Fernvale - Ugly aircon vent 447May 17, 2013 8:21 pm I bet that the aircon vent will be hardly noticeable once you've moved furniture in etc. Hopefully the builder can get a lighter coloured one though. $500 for curtains???? That's amazing!!! Nah, my condition is getting really bad, I'm category 1 and was supposed to have the surgery within 30 days, but I've already had to wait a month and a half, and now I have to wait another 2 weeks, making it 2 months. So waiting any longer isn't really an option. I know, right! They're not bad quality either, I got samples, and they're great! Real thick block-out material; I can't wait to have proper curtains in our bedroom - the ones we have now are really old and only blocks out like 10% of the light! I sent my aircon guys a floorplan detailing exactly where my future downlights would be located. He then put the vents in three rooms in the exact spot a downlight would go. They can surely find a white vent. Kitchen is awesome! I can't believe they put your vents in the exact spots where your downlights were going! We were lucky that our lights went in first, otherwise I suspect we'd have had the same thing happen. *shakes head* Settlement: 10.02.13 Slab: 06.03.13 Frame: 08.03.13 Lock-up: 05.04.13 Handover: 03.06.13 Build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59555 Brisbane Photography Re: Building in Fernvale - Only 2 weeks!!!! 453May 20, 2013 3:56 pm We went out and did the walk through today, our SS was generous with the red dots, which was great. Nothing new had been done since last time except putting up the towel rails and getting ready to pour the driveway tomorrow, but most of the last things will be happening this week. Driveway tomorrow, alfresco tiles in the next couple of days, and the laminate flooring and carpets within the end of this week. The only mistake we found (other than the usual paint marks and scratches) was the lack of a deadlock on our study door, which they will fix before handover. The aircon vent won't be able to be changed to a lighter colour, but we're fine with it. Once all our furniture is in and the yellow wrapper is off the smoke alarm, I don't think we'll notice it as much. We'll probably go again next week to see the floors, driveway and alfresco tiles, and then there will only be 1 week left! We had a real "moment" today, where we just sort of tried to let it sink in that we will actually be living there in 2 and a half weeks! Amazing! It does actually feel like it's gone super fast, I think because they initially gave us a completion date of early August! I got our curtains from Perfect Homes Australia, just ordered them online, they are due to ship tomorrow, yay!
