It's not our first build. Our very first was a transportable house we had plopped on a block at Napperby outside Port Pirie. It was a basic plan and not much could be changed. I don't even remember selections--I think we got what we got. Our second was in Brisbane. I loved that build, but I fell in love with the house at the display centre and wanted the selections exactly as the display home so we didn't have to think about anything other than pay the bills. We won't build again so I want this to be right! The block is at St Clair, the old Cheltenham racecourse site. It's only 10x30 so not much space. The block we originally chose was 10x27 but when I found out we couldn't have front fences I begged my husband to find more money to get a slightly longer block for our little dog. My husband says this makes him the most expensive dog we have ever had. Here's the house plan. I changed the separate toilet and vanity to one bigger bathroom, took out the breakfast bar and return, and added some cupboards in the two smaller bedrooms. I know what I want but budget constraints and builder restrictions are constantly getting in the way. (As soon as I really make up my mind.) Hachy, small garden and low maintenance inside and out are two of our main aims. Re: _lucinda's house 16May 13, 2013 10:08 am Looks great Lucinda! Sits really nicely on your block... Our dogs are important to us too, So I totally understand you wanting to have a decent bit of yard for your dog Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: _lucinda's house 17May 13, 2013 10:50 am Love your plan! A big front yard is generally a waste of space in my experience, I would much rather a lot of room out back too. Re: _lucinda's house 19May 13, 2013 11:10 am _lucinda Colour preferences coming soon. A big front yard is generally a waste of space in my experience, I would much rather a lot of room out back too. we dont have a choice with our front yard, we wanted a good sized land so we have a 20mtr wide block but we have to have an 8mtr setback, luckily the driveway will take up some of the space. i like that you will have a small front yard Re: _lucinda's house 20May 13, 2013 8:00 pm Hi lucinda, Love your thread so far My husband comes from Pt Pirie and we have friends in Napperby-its a lovely spot but a little isolated!!!! I found worrying about slections the hardest and all of the waiting waiting waiting..... You’re on the right track, wire brush in a grinder then a zinc rich epoxy primer then a top coat of some sort, like a waterproofing membrane. Raising the concrete would… 1 7029 How good is Simeon?! Always taking time to help others out! Wish we were building in NSW and could work together. Thanks for all that you do! 7 6558 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6883 |
