Browse Forums Building A New House Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 131Apr 21, 2013 4:43 pm Ours was Karndean Knightile KP50. The planks were $25 sqm and laying was $15 per sqm by a chap i found on Gumtree. Please note these prices were 5 years ago so perhaps they have gone up since. Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 132Apr 21, 2013 4:46 pm Wow I think Oneness had those. Must ask her what hers cost. Even so, 5 years isn't that long. Bargain, well done. I found a colour I love and have been offered 14,500 for 197ish sqm including install and feather coat (no levelling compound necessary thank god lol). The only problem is I got samples that scratch very easily and only sem to disappear when buffed with a cloth...however the samples at cc don't scratch at all.....I'm actually dubious to go with them if they're going to scratch so easily but I think I'm loving this colour a bit more than my Karndean options, though I feel safer with the Karndean.... HD Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 135Sep 10, 2013 9:19 pm Update on Van Gogh - not loose lay. Nothing but disappointment so far. Floor is lifting in several areas, finish in some corners is poor, floor wasn't level enough before being laid and feels annoyingly lumpy. It scratches very easily just like last floor, also has very stubborn stains on it since day one that just won't budge and also we have now waited several weeks on a verdict on what is to be done next and who is responsible. Hurry up Karndean and supplier, my patience is starting to wear thin. Devastated that I feel this way, when I was so excited about it in the beginning. I pray they don't let me down. I just wanted a low maintenance, nice looking floor that lasts. Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 136Sep 10, 2013 9:22 pm That's very disappointing SB. Our floor has been relaid but as we aren't moved in yet have no idea in regards to scratching! Hope it is sorted very soon!! Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 138Sep 10, 2013 9:41 pm Sounds like the person who laid them needs the sack, or a lot more training. Might go drag some stuff over the plank I received today. Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 140Sep 10, 2013 10:00 pm I put no sandy shoes and rubbed my feet all over, roller desk chair over them, toy cars. No scratches. But it's one plank. Time will tell if we have the same fate Have to say I'm still completely in love with the colour haha A Sabco spin mop, minimal moisture, not very regularly.
