Of course, it does not look good to have it in front of the house, but you know what, I do not even realise it is there until I think about it or something falls into it! So, don't stress too much, at least you may not be required to change the design of the driveway! Hang in there, all these challenges are part of the game. Cheers, Venkat. Thanks Venkat I need to remember to stay positive! I appreciate the feedback Re: Building in Brooks Reach 107Apr 17, 2013 11:32 pm Thanks for the welcome and replies - we are on the Eastern side of BR facing the reserve. Once I can figure out how I will post our plans - we ended up with lots of changes but am starting to feel happier each day with the way the plans worked out and think we are ready to sign on with BW. Reading everyones interesting posts makes me realise all may not run smoothly but I'm still looking forward to building a house, never thought I would. In relation to schools -a word of caution - we moved to this area 13 years ago and were told there was definitely going to be a new primary and high school - they did build Dapto Public but they closed the old one (hence it's busting at the seams) but we never got that high school - our kids are in Year 8, Year 7 and Year 5 so had to really think about high school options. Re: Building in Brooks Reach 108Apr 18, 2013 11:07 am Hey guys hope all is going well with the builds Our bricks have started!! woohoo so hopefully the weather holds up so they can get it finished.. SS thinks lock up should be in 4weeks if we have good enough weather fingers crossed!! I have decided to go with Jims building inspections which is good.. Ben was very helpful and the quote for the last two inspections came back at $760. Nat Im not exactly sure but i think 1500 for a different class lid is a little steep. we have 2 pits at my place now in the driveway and from my understanding only thing they should charge for is the stronger grade steel lid and the "hard plastic" housing. Maybe just call a plumber and ask what they generally charge.. p.s i dont have kids at the moment and i will still fight again bong bong primary & bong bong high LOL yuk Re: Building in Brooks Reach 109Apr 18, 2013 11:56 am thats great Darren! exciting. yeah 'Bong Bong' is an awful name for a school! news from our solicitors... We have received advice from the vendor’s solicitor that she was attending to exchange of contracts this morning. We will be able to give you absolute confirmation once we have received the exchanged contract in our office either tomorrow or Monday. The vendor’s solicitor apologised for the delay. She had missed the e-mail from last week authorising exchange, however she advised that she was going to exchange the contracts as we were speaking. Will give you an update later! You're the best! thank you Re: Building in Brooks Reach 114Apr 18, 2013 5:17 pm Hey Darren, so can we get a plumber to do it, it doesn't have to be the developer? If that's the case I would definitely shop around for quotes. Do you have the same type of sewer pit where your driveway is supposed to go? Saw your place on my lunch break yesterday whilst the brickies were there, lookin good! We'll be going again tomorrow arvo as we have an appt with MJH so I'm sure it'll look even better then Ruby I'll also have to check out your frames! If they're not there today then I'll let you know tomorrow if they've arrived LOL Re: Building in Brooks Reach 115Apr 18, 2013 5:19 pm I enquired regarding the Bong Bong Town Centre with the Stockland office at BR, and they do not know anymore than we do, and simply referred me to contact the Council. All I can find on Bong Bong Town Centre is http://www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/counci ... 20Area.pdf Darren, Good news on the commencement of brick work. Did you mean the combined price of the last two building inspections is $760? Update on our Pre-Construction Work:Our Builder has advised us that they are planning to lodge tomorrow an application for Complying Development Certificate (CDC) with Local Certification Services (Local Group). As the certifiers have seen our paperwork on our previous design, and our current design is almost the same however with a slightly smaller footprint, our Builder hopes to obtain approval within a short period of time – I sincerely hope so! Ruby, I left the contact details you asked for on my blog as well as yours. Hope you find them useful.
