Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 14, 2013 10:33 pm Hi, My builder has just completed the roof and roof tiles for a house I'm building. They used treated wood for the roof structure. The house is in an area affected by European house borer. Also, I assume the treatment protects against termites. However, when they installed the roof tiling, the timber used for the tile battens was not treated. Anyone has any experience? Could it be because only certain types of timber are affected. Even with the treated wood, once the carpenters and chasers have cut them, there's a bit of exposed areas for termites/borers to attack. Cheers.
