I'm doing a custom-build in the Hills District of Sydney.
I've been agonising over external colour selections. Had my appointment on Tuesday but I've completely changed my mind . I was originally thinking of having more cladding at the front but just could not work out colours that I would be happy with. I had been concerned about their being too much brick, however I think the small sections of colorbond roof break up the large area of brick.
This is the current front-elevation I've worked through the builder and their designer:
- Roof will be colourbond
- Right-hand side of facade will be brick
- Walls associated with the garage will be brick
- Feature pillars will be rendered and will have timber-stained posts
- The room above the garage will be clad with a vertical cladding such as scyon axon or similar
Can anyone suggest a "white" colour to use for the vertical-cladding. I want something that looks white but is not too stark.
I used one of the online rendering tools to get a general feel for how colour schemes look. I quite like the scheme I came up with below. Unfortunately I couldn't find a facade that was a particularly close match.
The aim is for a relatively light roof colour (but not blinding). Bricks are also a light colour which will hopefully help to keep the house cooler in our particularly hot summers. I like contrasting window frames.
The roof is "Dune". I was originally thinking "Windspray" but think it is too grey. "Surfmist" is blinding so I'm avoiding that. I think Dune would tie in well with the bricks, which are Austral Symmetry Asphalt.
(the bricks are not quite as orange as shown in the image below)
Opinions????????? ( be kind )
