I think I already know the answer but I want to see how common this issue with.
We went straight to the bank (ie didn't use a mortgage broker) as we used to the bank we currently bank with for a number of reasons. The home loan lender is also a 'family friend' for whatever that is worth now.
The bank messed around with the settlement on our land and it ended up taking them 22 days (21 day contract) to settle so I'm already not happy with them.
We purchased a house and land so they have had EVERYTHING since December when we applied for the formal approval.
We have just received the commence building authority letter from the bank and I have noticed that the progress payments in our contract from the builder don't match what St G have in the mortgage documents.
Builder states:
Contract stage – Deposit 5%
Slab stage 20%
Frame & truss stage 25%
Brick & roof stage 20%
Service rough-in and Lining stage 15%
Tiling, Painting & kitchen stage 10%
Completion 5%
What are my chances of getting the bank to agree the builders schedule given that they have given us prefilled out forms that will have the wrong amount?
