Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Jan 05, 2014 6:34 pm Howdy My DH and I are working through our bills and have worked out that after mortgage repayments and expenses including putting money away for future expenses ie. rates, water, elec, rego, car insurance we will have $600 per week. What we want to know is, is this good enough? What is everyone else's budget like? We include savings, money every fortnight to spend on ourselves (ie. for our hobbies, or buying computer games or books, or anything that is not essential) money for mortgage, council rates, groceries, insurance premiums, petrol, car servicing every 6 months, internet/phones etc. Everything is listed. It means that I know my car rego is due in August, and I will set aside money in July, so I don't have the big hit all coming out of one payday. Also Christmas is budgetted. You say you'll have $600 a week, for comparison we budget about $300 a week on food/groceries, but that is just for 2 of us, and we probably eat out more than we should. $600 a week should be plenty, especially if you mostly cook your own meals. Of course if you have expensive tastes, or 8 children, it may not be enough. you need a fridgie to answer but I would think you vac the whole system then add gas if you have a leak, unless it is new install with the gas already loaded, in that case… 1 3656 Old Home Restoration / Renovation Hi, just discovered all these junks left behind under the floor.
