Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Nov 14, 2013 10:28 pm HI there. What happens during settlement? I have sufficient deposit to pay for the land outright. So is it just a matter of handing over a bank cheque on settlement day and the vendor in turn provides you the title deed? I'm assuming I would need to present the title deed to the land office and pay the stamp duty so it can be put into my name? Re: First time building - Land Settlement Questions 4Nov 15, 2013 3:54 pm the conveyancer handles the details, they should tell you how they want settlement to happen. Re: First time building - Land Settlement Questions 5Nov 19, 2013 10:44 am I used to be a settlements clerk when I was 19 and both parties representatives meet to swap documents for cheques. Then I would usually head to the stamp duty office to pay the stamp duty on behalf of the client. The client wouldn't usually have to do anything. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: First time building - Land Settlement Questions 6Nov 19, 2013 3:42 pm As a client I just had to make sure all the $$ were in place, the solicitor did all the details, rang me when it was completed and sent all the paperwork to me. Hi all, I just received the paperwork from my solicitor after the settlement (2 weeks ago). Basically, it was a letter confirming the settlement and: 1. The front page of the purchase contract (the same that i signed initially) 2. Copy of transfer (very simple form with stamps from the Office of State Revenue) 3. Copy of title search 4. Copy os stamp duty notice of assessment (noting that has been paid in full) As, the process is different in my country, I would like to know if those documents are enough or I need to ask for something else. thanks in advance Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8949 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
