Hi,
Has anyone used mortgage refer services like refunds2u (http://www.refunds2u.com.au) or refunds direct (http://www.refundsdirect.com.au/), is there any catch with their commission refund ?
Cheers,

Cheers, Re: mortgage refer service with commission refund 2Sep 05, 2011 5:31 pm I think the catch is that you don't get any help with your mortgage application. And the amount you get back looks considerably less than what the bank is paying them. The poor english and lack of background details on the refunds2u.com.au website doesn't exactly earn my trust either. If I was choosing I would go with refundsdirect.com.au. They also offer a higher refund for the scenarios I tried. If you already know you don't want a mortgage broker then it looks like a reasonable option. As they say on the website "No Brokers involved. You are in control." Are they putting borrowers into a loan which gives them the highest commission. Get the structure/product wrong and you could be paying more than you need to each and every year. Re: mortgage refer service with commission refund 5Sep 06, 2011 11:00 am That's a good point.. though on the refundsdirect website they say this: "You will be contacted by your chosen lenders who will discuss your needs, their products and offers, to find the best match for you." So it's you and the lender who decide the product directly. Which is exactly what you would be doing if you had gone to the bank directly. You may not get as good a deal as a mortgage broker could get you though - my broker got me a no LMI deal with a LVR of 86%, which saved me thousands.
