I have a breakfree package through ANZ and with this package you get a Gold credit card (No annual fee) and an offset account (no $10 per month fee) After many months of battling them because I had $100 of fees on my offset account they refunded $55. $55 and not the full $100 Apparently the breakfree has certain conditions that the staff member did not advise. She knew we were building and having a construction loan ... but this package only has the fee free offset account when your loan reaches over $150,000.. and that took 4.5 months since I opened the account. No matter how many times the staff say "it's free" don't believe them! They all have targets and they all have incentives to get those targets.. I should know; my mum works for a bank!! Re: Advice about Breakfree package from ANZ 2Jun 21, 2011 6:32 pm It sounds like the bank staff just didn't understand their product completely. It is quite common as home loans, cheque accounts, credit cards and insurance are all becoming increasingly complex and many bank staff and brokers are having trouble keeping up. Yes it pays to read the T&C. Believe me that was a relatively minor issue compared to some of the other ones out there! Yes, I should have read the T&C but with so much paperwork it's so overwhelming.. and I tend to believe people if they say something is free etc.. oh well I guess it wasn't too much money that I lost.. Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time.
