Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Jan 15, 2008 6:08 am Hello all,
We are looking at financing our house build now - we are building on a block we have already purchased, well, I say 'purchased' but we actually haven't given them any money yet - hence this post. I have come across http://www.loanaustralia.com.au/ and they seem very attractive in what they are offering. Does anyone on here have a mortgage with them, or knows anything about them? Thanks. Re: Anyone used www.loanaustralia.com.au for mortgage? 2Jan 15, 2008 7:40 am Hi!
I applied and was offered a loan through Loans Australia. However at the last minute I realised my current lender had a big exit fee, so I pulled the plug. Loans Aus were very gracious and sent my originals back promptly. They seem like a pretty good outfit. I'm with Homepath, they have good rates but little service. I want to switch to Virgin Money once I can avoid the early exit fee. We went with Myrate instead, another internet lender. Re: Anyone used www.loanaustralia.com.au for mortgage? 4Jan 15, 2008 8:56 pm I read somewhere that one of Virgin Money's home loan product was voted as the best home loan last year (considering all costs involved).
Wanted to move to them but due to exit fees.. we can't at the moment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Anyone used www.loanaustralia.com.au for mortgage? 5Feb 20, 2008 8:31 am lrhodes1 I applied and was offered a loan through Loans Australia. Just so everyone is aware and does not get confused. There is two places....one is Loan Australia (which the OP is referring to) and the other is LoanS Australia. Note the plural "s". I know the people at Loans (http://www.loansaustralia.com.au) personally and they are good. But don't get them mixed up with the loan australia. Re: Anyone used www.loanaustralia.com.au for mortgage? 6Feb 20, 2008 12:36 pm I'd be checking a bit about any lenders background transactions at present.
I know a couple of banking people and many of our OZ lendors (bansk included) are in someway affected by the US sub price stuff - so just make sure you know what clauses you are signing up for. I did some US money reviews last week, and from what I saw the situation is worse than many of us are being told. Steve Re: Anyone used www.loanaustralia.com.au for mortgage? 7Aug 27, 2008 5:47 pm I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to add my 2 cents as I got my mortgage through this company and was surprised to read so many bad words about them.
Firstly, their customer service is not what you would expect of CBA, ANZ etc but they are an independant non-bank lender and their service and rates reflect this. Secondly, they don't have internet banking but provide you with the account to make extra payments and can provide your current balance on request. However they are on of the few lenders that still offer 100% loans and they are willing to help you get the loan. I had an extremelly unique case in the fact that I hold 2 jobs (one which the amount varies weekly), I have a bit of personal debt, single, and had to do Statutory Declarations in relation to the relationship with my ex-spouse and investment property. Add to the fact that the payslip from my full-time job only showed 6 months worth of wages due to a change of me working for the company to being contracted out to another company and no one was willing to hear my explanation. However they helped me obtain all the paperwork to satisfy the company providing the LMI and daily phone calls/emails from WA to NSW updating me on the situation was very much appreciated. - the LMI was much harder to obtain than the loan itself (I guess they are covering themselves with all the defaults lately). They also didn't flinch when I needed to move settlement forward a month due to some personal issues. At the end of the day if you have 2 incomes, no personal debt, have a deposit etc it is much easier to obtain a loan. But sometimes you do have to look outside the box and for those that have a complicated case this company may be worth considering.
