I have found a couple of recommandations at http://www.productreview.com.au/c/home-loans.html Seems like ING direct are quite popular... anyone has experience with them before? ___________________ Building with Carlisle Homes, Montrose 36 in Point Cook http://www.pointcookfb.blogspot.com/ Re: Best bank for a home loan? 22Apr 24, 2011 7:11 pm Tried to talk to someone from ING and they never returned my calls. I am still banking with them too. Members Equity have been a breeze for me. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 23Apr 24, 2011 9:07 pm Dollar Tried to talk to someone from ING and they never returned my calls. I am still banking with them too. Members Equity have been a breeze for me. Members Equity are so easy to deal with, we have always been with them, bank with them as well. The rates are good. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 24Apr 26, 2011 11:06 pm Exactly right Deb. We've had very good service. Rates are good too. I should use them for my everyday banking too. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 25Apr 28, 2011 12:43 pm thanks guys, but I might not be 1 of the members of the union or super funds... hmm... not quite sure if I can switch over for that... ___________________ Building with Carlisle Homes, Montrose 36 in Point Cook http://www.pointcookfb.blogspot.com/ Re: Best bank for a home loan? 26Apr 28, 2011 9:43 pm NAB has some good packages at the moment, they can sometimes offer you a better deal if you go into the branch. Matesrates is also able to organise some good deals, so I'm going to attempt to re-finance within Commonwealth as it works out slightly cheaper than NAB after the 2nd year due to trailing refunds... Re: Best bank for a home loan? 27Apr 29, 2011 7:57 pm Thanks anonyuser, will definitely check out the rates with nab too. Commonwealth offers 7.11 for var rate home loan ___________________ Building with Carlisle Homes, Montrose 36 in Point Cook http://www.pointcookfb.blogspot.com/ Re: Best bank for a home loan? 28Apr 29, 2011 10:03 pm cuppyccake thanks guys, but I might not be 1 of the members of the union or super funds... hmm... not quite sure if I can switch over for that... Have you checked the list of super funds and unions. There are quite alot on the list I think. We are both Members of the Australian Services Union and Vision Super. They don't offer lower rates to any members, so no-one gets a cheaper rate, even their employees, I have been told, which is good. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 29Apr 29, 2011 10:41 pm cuppyccake Thanks anonyuser, will definitely check out the rates with nab too. Commonwealth offers 7.11 for var rate home loan It does get more complex which is why a broker can help Just be warned that NAB doesn't really pay anyone commission, so sometimes brokers go through Homeside lending (NAB's broker arm). A *packaged* rate with Commonwealth can end up a little cheaper, just like the NAB choice package can get there variable rate down to 6.97% without talking to anyone . However you do pay a yearly package fee of $395/year. Hi Deb, Yup, I did check the list, but mine is not in.. but my partners' is in... So not too sure if that is possible... But I have send in a request to meet up with their mobile banking personnel... hope I can get more information from them soon.. Thx a lot for the recommandations.. ___________________ Building with Carlisle Homes, Montrose 36 in Point Cook http://www.pointcookfb.blogspot.com/ Re: Best bank for a home loan? 31May 01, 2011 7:54 pm theanonyuser cuppyccake Thanks anonyuser, will definitely check out the rates with nab too. I will probably check Homeside lending as well, since they are NAB's broker. Thx ya![/quote] You can only get Homeside through a broker and you cannot get NAB through a broker, only by dealing directly with NAB... Just a word of warning, homeside took over 5 weeks to approve our land loan after the broker advised their current processing time was 6-10 working days, and they will only provide unconditional approval for construction loan once you have council approved plans... For us this meant funding the first 5% ($13k) out of our own pocket for the builder to prepare everything and submit to council... Re: Best bank for a home loan? 34Jul 14, 2012 10:31 am rajan_g4 Luke first of all, congrats on your house. its all exciting. regarding finance, definitely a broker. he will save you so much time and hassles of satisfying bank's requirements of millions of documents. helped in my case, my loan got approved last week. I went through this guy named Philip Mathew from LoanMarket, pretty good response so far, I hear there is some guy named Powell ( i think he is much talked about in homeone forum, just do a search for his name ) Best of luck Cheers We went through Philip Mathew at loan market and I would NOT recommend him what so ever. Apart from a contract we never received any paper work at all in regards to what sums he had worked out apart from "Ruff" hand written ball park sums he put for us down on paper from the first day we met,.... that was so messy we couldn't even follow it. We expected to receive something formal in the post in regards to where our money was being allocated and to make sure he was giving us what we wanted because people in the profession meet so many customers, so many sums , ..over such a long period between actions ...there are bound to be inaccuracies and problems. So we expected someone In that line of work to be professional enough to at least send something formal in the post so "We" and the broker are on the same page in months to come, which I believe is a basic requirement of professionalism for them to provide ....But not Philip Mathew! All he seems to care about is signing you up and then you never hear from the guy. I had to chase him in order to find out whether we had approval both times ...HOW BAD IS THAT! Re: Best bank for a home loan? 35Jul 18, 2012 2:42 pm I second ME - they helped us out when a major bank screwed us over for a loan. The guy there was unbelievable and advocated for us the whole way. The mortgage broker wanted us to go with Suncorp but ME had better rates and better track record of rates and still do. We bank with them for everything and LOVE them and they have talked us through all our options for our next venture. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 36Jul 18, 2012 7:24 pm we looking at lot of these companies recently when we wanted to refiance from the cba, we are stilling waiting for half them to call us back including member equity and nab, so is the end we stayed with cba very bad business when they cannot even call you back after several calls to them, seems they really did not want my business anyway finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Best bank for a home loan? 37Jul 18, 2012 11:22 pm The personnel you talk to at these lenders are most likely on a salary, and it probably doesn't matter to them whether you refinance across to them or not. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 38Jul 19, 2012 7:16 am maybe so plc still no way to run any business thought as far as i am concerned finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Best bank for a home loan? 39Jul 19, 2012 7:41 am If you were in Perth yvette72 I would pm you a direct contact. I would feel the same about any business that didn't call prospective customers back too (have that problem with tradies every other week). I wouldn't touch NAB with a barge pole but then that is due to my own bad experience with them - should've trusted my instincts on that one. Re: Best bank for a home loan? 40Jul 19, 2012 7:48 am you should try even getting anyone to do any work here in qld.We had kitchen cupboard installed rang 5 kitchen companies all local.Only one called back he got the job.One had the hide to ring back 5 months later and give me a ear full because I had already given the job to someone else he then told me had several times and no one never home which is funny because I am pretty home all time.I then turned around and said never got a message on the answering machince he didnot known what to say and could not get of the phone quick enough. My husband is a ex tradie a brickie he got out of it sick of builders and companies not paying or not paying on time he now does something else finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 How much are you ahead in payments compared to where the build is at? Have you fully drawn down the loan? 5 11916 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19097 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35326 |
