I have never fixed my loan, always variable. I like using offset accounts and we put all our savings in there. So the interest is no where near the actual loan amount.
I think this works better for us than fixing.

Unlikely to be an increase in December but expect 2-3 further increases in 2008 (and one of the increases may be 0.5% not 0.25%) Even with the expected increases in interest rates inflation may not reduce to the level the RBA prefer. With tax cuts to come, strong rental increases, oil prices rising, low unemployment and the subsequent impact on wage growth further increases may be necessary in 2009! I hope we dont get back to over 10% and I hope the experts are wrong! DQQ Never argue with an idiot!!!! Back in the 90's they had one rate increase of 2.5 percent (I think it was) alone. .25% does nothing.
