Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Feb 06, 2010 11:27 am We have been dealing with our mortgage broker on and off for a couple of years and are finally in the last stages of getting the finance sorted for our new home to be built... won't be too much longer and we will have to deal with the bank instead of our broker . We have spent the last 18 - 24 months changing our minds about whether to build v's buy, increasing and decreasing the amount that we were looking at borrowing etc etc etc, and our broker has been an absolute Godsend to us. Honestly, a lesser man would have slapped me up the back of the head about 12 months ago and told me to bugger off! I realise he will be getting some kind of a commission regarding our loan, but he has gone so far above and beyond the call of duty that I would like to get him something to say thankyou, only I have no idea what. So, any suggestions as to what I can get? I would like to get something for him as well as his assistant who has also been putting up with me... Like I said, I realise I don't have to get them something, but I really want to say thank you to them... Any suggestions? Nic. Re: Getting a thankyou gift for a mortgage broker? 4Feb 09, 2010 7:01 pm We're likely to do something similar for our mortgage broker. Then again, he's a family friend. In all honesty, I think it's a nice gesture - it'd mean a lot, and especially if you need to work with them again in the future or call out a favour... I found a great hamper place that will do up nice bottles of Hunter Valley wines / biscuts / choc's etc (we are in Newcastle, so the Hunter Valley stuff is pretty much all local) and they will deliver it as well. We got conditional approval on our construction loan today...so quick! I took the paperwork to the broker on Wednesday of last week, he emailed me on Thursday and said he had submitted it and they called at 3pm today to say we had conditional approval! Thanks again!
