Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Jan 12, 2010 8:48 am I wouldn't mind getting a rough house valuation and it seems there are lots of companies who do it online. They all seem to require to collect a fair bit of personal details which I am not really too keen on doing unless I know it will only be used by them / not for sales etc. So I was wondering has anyone used any of the free online house valuations and would recommend them? Thanks Re: Online House Valuation 2Jan 12, 2010 11:46 am In my experience those online house valuation websites refer you to a local affiliated real estate agent who will then contact you to arrange an inspection of your property. Companies like Residex, RP Data and propertyvalue.com.au will provide you with an estimated value for your property for a price though. I think they charge somewhere between $50 and $100 for such a report. It won't involve any contact with a real estate agent and the report will be emailed to you. That may be an option for you. There is no physical inspection involved so they are quite vague but actual (lender) valuers rely heavily on actual sales data so on average these sales figures determine value greatly.
