After months of looking at houses and 2 and a half weeks of crazily doing paper work and rushing the bank to meet our cooling off period deadline - we finally have final unconditional approval!! We bought a house on a 750m2 block and we are first home buyers. The process was so stressful!
We went with Westpac and they were pretty good in terms of being on time except we did have to extend our cooling off period by 2 days because they put the wrong amount on the valuation report and had to re do it

Putting the wrong amount on a valuation report? That's never happened before.
