Not too happy with my car insurance quote through RAC. Did an online one with Aami which was $200 better!! any thoughts on this company and can you recommend other insurers?? thanks Lisa We are with AAMI for one car and are going to put 2 cars with them as they were cheaper than RACV for the other car this year. We have been with them for 5 years for the first car. We have even had to make a claim as someone keyed my DHs car They handled the claim very well. I would recommend them. Re: Car insurance 5Jul 11, 2009 10:50 am I've had an insurance claim with RACV and they handled it very well. (it wasn't my fault so that probably makes things a little easier). Sarah just recently brough a new Toyota Yaris and we literally just went through all the major car insurers to see who would give the best quote. Bingle came back as the cheapest and we got agreed value at $4,000 more than what Sarah paid for the car. Check out www.bingle.com.au (Bingle are actually under AAMI's insurance) Our house thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18335 Re: Car insurance 7Jul 11, 2009 5:25 pm We are with AAMI and Just Cars for the various cars we have. Re: Car insurance 8Jul 11, 2009 8:31 pm My last 2 cars have been insured through CGU and I've never had a problem with them. They've always been the cheapest for me and they let me pay by the month. I'm currently paying $68 per month for my saab convertible full comprehensive insurance. RACV quote came in at $119 per month Custom downslope build Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61873 Blog http://www.buildingroyalmanor.blogspot.com.au Re: Car insurance 10Jul 12, 2009 5:59 pm I was with CGU but now Budget direct for full comp. Never had an accident yet so can't comment too much on their service. Renovation Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38489 Re: Car insurance 11Oct 29, 2009 8:57 pm d@n Full comp is a bit of a rip Until you realise that towing rates are more expensive than ambulances! We have had a recent experience with AAMI. We are a 4 car family and all of the cars are insured through them. Last Wednesday DD2 wrote off her car, DON'T WORRY SHE'S FINE, she was driving the front car of a 3 car pile up on the Monash Fwy, was hit from behind and wasn't at fault. Anyway DW spoke to AAMI that evening from the place the car was taken to and they stated that if the car was deemed to be a write off (which seemed obvious because of the creases in panels that weren't directly hit which indicates a major misalignment in the body) the money could possibly be in her bank account as soon as Monday! We searched for another car last Thursday, DW and DD2 found one that day that suited her requirements believe it or not, and after checking it out a deal was made and a deposit paid that night on the condition that confirmation was required that her old car was written off. The money was deposited in her account yesterday and we picked the car up today. Too easy. DW did all the communication with AAMI through the journey and organised insurance transfer etc. They were extremely helpful, were able to track the progress of the status of the old car, and most importantly spoke English! We've also found them very helpful with quotes for other cars over the years. A simple phone call to them results in a mailed quote a day or two later. They seem very switched on. Geoff - Decophile. Re: Car insurance 12Oct 29, 2009 9:49 pm You do pay for what you get. Just check your policy to make sure you're actually covered for what you think you are. I have all my insurancers thru HBF. Love them. Used to be with RAC for my car, but they're too expensive and were extremely difficult to deal with when i attempted to make a claim. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Car insurance 13Oct 30, 2009 3:46 pm d@n I only have 3rd party with AAMI. No complaints. Full comp is a bit of a rip I had a car covered for 3rd party once but the greenslip is a lot more expensive when you don't have full comp. So it's not that much different in the end. Re: Car insurance 14Oct 30, 2009 8:16 pm We have our car with AAMI and due to it's low, low Klms we have a very good AGREED VALUE which I feel is extremely important. Have claimed before with no hassles. We have been with them for a long time and have the lifetime rating one. We also have out house and contents insurance with them with attracts a 15% discount. Re: Car insurance 15Dec 11, 2009 9:48 pm Currently I am also looking for a new car insurance because I am not satisfied with the current one. In order to find a new one I searched the internet and found some quite interesting websites. I found an article about car insurance comparison between the US and Germany. I was quite surprised that there are so many differences. Nevertheless I am still looking for an appropriate Australian insurance. Re: Car insuranceck 16Dec 12, 2009 9:33 pm Hi Eager Thats very interesting how quick your daughter insurance claim went through. My son had a accident on wednesday, and his car also a right off. Spoke to his insurance company, who he only has third party with, and got told we have to go through the kid who hit him, car insurance company. Have to see what happens. Thank goodness my son and all involved in his accident were okay as well. They were all very lucky considering it was a head on crash. Caz Re: Car insurance 17Dec 12, 2009 10:48 pm we have 4 cars through AAMI & 1 through Just Car Insurance & am very happy with both companies i have had dealings with both Allianz & Bingle in the past & they were great also, as for R.A.C.V. - N.R.M.A. i would not waste my time but thats just my 0.02¢ worth cheers rocket Re: Car insurance 19Feb 23, 2010 2:12 pm I just had to renew my insurance with JustCars yesterday. I had to pay $934 for a year worth of cover. Ouch! dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 7518 I looked into it a few years ago and my conclusion was to just build a carport that will support panels and get a system installed separately.
