When we first bought the car I was 20 and DP was 21...insurance was just over $1800 per year Three years later and it has gone down to $800 per year !! I don't know why it has dropped so much, although now it is stored in a garage in a safe suburb, rather than a carport in a pretty ******* suburb! Re: Car insurance 26May 25, 2011 10:36 pm Our Mazda 3 just came up for renewal, RACV wanted $970. I checked a few companies (GIO, Budget Direct and AAMI). AAMI came in the cheapest at $550. Saving of $400 not complaining. Same excess and conditions as the RACV one. The only difference I could see in the PDS, was that AAMI get two quotes from two repairers, and go with the cheapest. You can provide one of the quotes, but they will always choose the cheapest.
