Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Mar 12, 2009 6:19 pm We have just signed up for this loan with Bankwest for our new investment. Keep in mind these guys have just been taken over by The Commonwealth but so far I have been enjoying the takeover where I was previously concerned.
So if anyone is interested jump in now. Its the first time our Mortgage Broker has ever in our 9 years with him ever suggested fixing a loan for 3 years. With this loan and our savings we now will be paying less than what we are paying for our rental.???????? Money is very cheap to buy right now if you are reasonably safe and secure in your job. As it is probably not a bank you would generally think of living over east but I thought I would let you know about it. Re: If your looking for a Home Loan........4.92% 2Mar 12, 2009 6:31 pm I’ve fixed my loan for three years, at my recommendations!
Good to see I did the right thing, and yes, my repayments are less than rent would be. Not sure why you would fix at 4.92 for 3 years when it is going to go below that within at least the next 6 months. Re: If your looking for a Home Loan........4.92% 4Mar 12, 2009 6:45 pm Good on you Michelle, sounds like you have done well also.
Wakeboard.....if we get down to 1% or 2% through the banks I don't hink I will be at odds with myself for making this decision now. I suppose its what works for different people at different stages and we all make those decisions for our own circumstances, for us we will be happy to do this particular rate as it actually drops against the big 4 down to as low as 3% so for now we are fixed unless it goes lower. Its a rate tracker loan see the banks website for more info. I wasn't going into full rate details with this little post when I started but there you go. Re: If your looking for a Home Loan........4.92% 5Mar 12, 2009 7:02 pm I didn’t fix it because I’m clever, I fixed because I’m not very good with budgets!
So I need to know what’s coming out of my bank account each week/month. And I have a sneaking feeling, and have been told when the rates start to climb again, they are going to move fast. I didn’t want to miss a blink and get caught up in that with a variable. If you take back to shopping it always sounds better.
Michelle, you fixed it for a really good reason so that is clever. Seeing that a few banks on our panel just reduced their fixed rates last week AGAIN, home loan rates have not hit bottom yet. Re: If your looking for a Home Loan........4.92% 10Mar 13, 2009 10:16 am You can expect more of the same. The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 13524 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 31778 How much are you ahead in payments compared to where the build is at?
