Hi Guys
I was contacted by a broker recently to obtain a home loan and after a phone conversation he told me it is all going to be ok and he will send an email with a list of documents I need to provide to go a head and apply for the loan; later I send the documents, which were IDs, bank statements and work contracts… etc.
2 days later he calls asking for one more document to send which I sent then by email(all the documents were sent by email) then 2 minutes after me sending the last document he replies to my email saying that he just got off the phone with the bank and unfortunately the bank will not approve my loan until after couple of months from now(he gave me the name of the bank).
His email reply was around 10 PM on the weekend so I didn’t believe he could be talking to the bank at that time and that he got all the info in just under 2 mins; next day I called the bank and they confirmed that they will approve my loan after applying and providing the required documents.
Now I have no idea why that broker * and what was his interest in collecting my documents and then misleading me to wait for couple of months.
Is this something bad and I should investigate further or he just wanted to upset me??
Can brokers steal the identity of their clients.
Any thoughts?
