Rather take the experts' guess, where they put their money where their mouth is, rather than us amateurs So called "experts" didn't do to good a job with our economy and unfortunately experts deal with a lot more of other people's money then they're own... For the record I went 1%...economists want us to spend so they want more money in our pocket...Government will bring forward the June tax cuts because the one off stimulus was a fizzer...State and Feds are already investing in "shovel ready" projects (insiders knowledge... )...hopefully we'll get some "nation building" out of this whilst there's a drop in us digging holes in the ground and sending it overseas...now if only we could see some bipartisanship (on both sides) rather than the early new year ramping up of political rhetoric. Casa2 You realise the RBA is monitoring this topic and will apply whatever rate has the highest poll. The RBA used to have sophisticated modeling, but in the end decided the wisdom of Homeone forum members is better than any modeling. Just for the record I was referring to stockbrokers, economists, CEO's taking massive payouts whilst there company floundered, presidents, and prime ministers who kept saying the economy is in fine shape rather than yourself who seems to offer sound financial advice...(putting aside my earlier concerns of a conflict of interest which I'm glad were unfounded).... Maybe a 1.5% option needs to be added on the poll homepage, gotta a gut feeling we might need it. Your latest thoughts on tomorrow's rate cut. Cheers Michael. Re: Is RBA going to cut rates again in February? 48Feb 02, 2009 11:34 am If the wisdom of crowds is correct, we should be getting a 0.75% drop in offical interest rates tomorrow (and announced on Wednesday). I still think it will be a 1.0% drop. Certainly surprised a few in the past. Cheers Michael He wants a dream home theatre - she wants a dream kitchen! home loan interest rate cuts 50Feb 02, 2009 1:09 pm hi paddy,
I hear your opinion but if we introduce that option now it will not be represented equally as most of the voters didn't have the option. Re: Is RBA going to cut rates again in February? 51Feb 03, 2009 7:23 am Well today the RBA meets to decide how much to cut interest rates.
I've been saying 1% since the poll started, but the economic landscape has changed further since the start fo the poll. I now see 1% as the minimum, with another cut in March (probably another 1%). Today's cut (announced tomorrow?) will, I think, now be at least 1%. Alternatively, 1.25% and 1.5% would also be distinct possibilites. You can forget 0%, 0.25% and 0.5%. With 0.75% being as much a surprise as 1.75%. Won't be long now. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Is RBA going to cut rates again in February? 52Feb 03, 2009 8:39 am I believe the cut will be announced today, if you watch question time today 2.00/3.00 Mr Swan will have a huge smile on his face when he delivers the news to all mortgage holders at 2.31pm.
Prediction 1.5% Cheers Michael He wants a dream home theatre - she wants a dream kitchen! Re: Is RBA going to cut rates again in February? 53Feb 03, 2009 11:25 am Personally i think a 1.5 cut will have the opposite effect and will scare the crap out of everybody ... Result being everybody will bunker down and only spend when they have to ...
But by cutting .75 this month and .75 again next month you achieve the same result , time will tell i guess ... Final Poll Result before the 1% rate cut announcement 57Feb 03, 2009 1:34 pm What RBA interest rate cut do you expect in February?

I wonder which lenders will pass on the full 1% Re: Is RBA going to cut rates again in February? 59Feb 03, 2009 1:42 pm Its Official RBA has cut the interest rate by 1%. The Reserve Bank has again slashed rates, cutting its key rate by another 100 basis points to a record low 3.25%. - The age.
Now lets see how much the lenders pass on to their customers..
