Browse Forums Home Finance 1 Dec 07, 2024 1:55 pm Can someone pls help with advice. My husband and I live in NSW and own a land in Tasmania. We were pre-approved to build a home( owner occupier). My husband is working from home and we already provided the bank with work from home contract .However, just before final approval, the bank requested a new updated letter from my husband’s work stating he is still working from home. when my husband approached his work and told them he was applying for a loan and the bank needs the letter, his work said they cannot give the letter as it is end of year and there is high possibility he will be required hybrid work in office next year. We were honest with bank manager and explained this, however, now the bank says we can no longer get construction loan for home owner occupier as husband will be working from office some days. We told them we are planning to actually live in the constructed home as soon as it is built and husband will travel as needed between states to work but they still refused. We don’t know what to do at all! My husband is still earning full time permanent income and we were 1 day away from final approval and everything ready to go with building. How can this change the bank’s view. Pls help.
