I know everyone is cynical about the banks these days but ANZ needs to be commended for being the only bank that has reversed (at least part of) the 0.55 they had added to the rates on top of the RBA increases and the 0.2 they didn't pass back through (after 1%reduction by RBA) to borrowers. It's a start. PS.I have no association with ANZ except for a broker accreditation to provide their home loans to individuals and businesses (in addition to accreditations held with every other major and mid tier bank lender). National Australia Bank (NAB) announced yesterday it was dropping its standard variable home loan rate by 20 basis points to 8.36 per cent and some rates on fixed mortgages would be reduced by 0.3 percentage points, NAB said. NAB's one-year fixed home loan was cut by 30 basis points to 6.99 per cent. CBA's three-year fixed home loan rate will move from 7.69 per cent to 7.29 per cent.
