Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Apr 27, 2018 11:47 pm I’m wanting to install an RF remote receiver integrated in an existing SPDT light switch but want to retain the manual functions of the existing switch. Have looked at RF power socket controllers PCBs, etc but think I may need a latching relay to achieve what I want?? It’s Just one wall mounted switch that controls 2 ceiling outlets. So layman’s terms, I want to be able to turn the lights on and off via the manual wall mounted switch but also be able to turn them on and off via a remote without losing the functionality of either switching choice Re: RF lightswitch retaining manual functionality 2Jun 02, 2018 9:55 am I'm making this up as I go along, but I'm thinking that you've got a simple "Two way switching" situation, like we have in our hallway.......... A light switch at either end of our hallway allows you to control the light from either end of the hallway. So you'd just have your "manual" switch wired as Switch 1 of the two-way circuit and the remote switch wired as Switch 2 of the circuit. There are a few options for your remote switch, but if it was me I'd be looking at Z-Wave switch modules. P_D . Re: RF lightswitch retaining manual functionality 4Jul 07, 2018 8:04 pm As "Pepsi_Drinker" said, Fibaro Z wave is the way to go as you can control the lights from an app and the relay sits in behind the switch still allowing you to operate the lights as normal. You would need to purchase the home centre to allow this to talk to the mesh network (z wave) https://www.fibaro.com/en/products/home-center-lite/ Example below of relay & existing switch Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ _____________________________________ Building in Bedfordale Perth WA https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89716 Churchman Brook Electrical Services EC 8659 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16122 Hi All, I engaged a tradie to install concrete retaining wall 600-800mm high over 32 meters in Victoria.
