Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 May 24, 2017 9:05 pm Hi, Is there a safe and complient way that I can have a light in my shower niche, Keep in mind this is a new build, currently at frame stage. The light will be above the niche as such so it will not get directly wet and it will be inside the wall, how ever I'm guessing it will need to be a special/waterproof light. https://goo.gl/images/0t3zzu Im also seeing a lot of Wall Mirrors with a glowing light behind them, Im curious to know are these mirrors purchased like this? is there a light in the wall behind the mirror? or is it LED's around the mirror? https://goo.gl/images/S81o9z Thanks Re: Lights In Shower Niche and Behind Mirrors 3May 25, 2017 2:27 pm Hi, I cant help but check our MrsJM's Custom Coral Bronte thread, I know she has lights in her niches - From memory it wasnt smooth sailing but she got there. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Lights In Shower Niche and Behind Mirrors 4May 27, 2017 6:45 pm I wouldn't recommend the shower niche one. I regularly have interior designers asking me to design these in to my lighting designs but I won't. It will be very difficult to maintain the integrity of the waterproof membrane. Also, when it fails and needs replacing, you will probably have to butcher the tiles and waterproofing to replace it. To do it properly so that none of these are issues it would cost many hundreds of dollars or more. The mirror on the other hand is relatively easy. You can find pictures on my build thread - I've done both bathrooms. viewtopic.php?f=53&t=82091 Building Services Engineer Renovating our 1960's modernist home in Brisbane https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=82091 Old Home Restoration / Renovation Hi, just discovered all these junks left behind under the floor. Could any of these be asbestos? Best to leave as it is or clean up? Thank you for your thoughts 0 8070 So I'm just reading up on this ecosystem of lights. I'm planning on putting deck lights along the outside edge of a large deck. Will need about 3 packs (18 lights) plus… 0 23023 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. Thanks 2 9568 |
