LED down lights after construction

Hi,

We are planning to get bulk of downlights installed after we get possession of our house. Question I have is , will it be very difficult for any electric guy to get the new buttons and wires connection once house is ready?

We arw doing this as builder is quoting too much per down light. We have single storey house.

Hi Dharmesh,

We are building with Eden Brae and will be doing downlights after we move in.

However in preparation for this we have installed light battens in the places where the downlights will be placed.

What was the cost builder charged per light batten?

Need to check with my builder if he is willing to do that? And if yes at what cost?

All builders are willing to do that.

Eden Brae charges $75 per light batten, $115-$120 per downlight.

So once they have provided batten, how much would be approx cost per down light that we install?

$14-$15 to buy each downlight + sparky charged $15 to install.

Hi WongBruce,
We are also building and wondering if it's best to get light points wherever we want down lights and then put LEDs after the build? Is this the most cost effective way?

My builder is charging $98 per downlight but these are halogens and not LEDs.

He is charging $58 per light point. Is this what we need to enable future installation of LED downlights?
