I want this gone and in its place, EITHER a really nice ceiling fan with light, OR a ceiling fan and another second light elsewhere on the ceiling. But is this possible? To have 2 separate fittings like this if only one currently exists? In many cases that would be putting the light away from the centre of the room. The easiest solution is to replace the existing light with a remote controlled fan/light. This is a simple exercise, and will just use the same wiring. Depending on the ceiling construction, it may be possible to pull a cable across to another location, but it is a more difficult job. Then it's trickier still to run that through to another switch on the wall. Re: One existing light fitting in ceiling...can two lights w 3Nov 23, 2015 3:38 pm Cool, thank you so much!
