Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Mar 29, 2015 2:52 pm hi all, we are currently at prestart phase with ventura and having a tricky time with lighting options/limitations. We are building a two storey and because of the concrete slab really need to nail the lighting for downstairs. In the entrance hall we would like to be a stacked stone feature after the build and we are trying to position a light above it. Ventura can put a bayonet light above it which they say we can change later. They don't seem to be able to tell us if we could then change that later for a feature light or perhaps even a strip light to go above the stacked wall. But if you put a bayonet light with a casing how easy it will it be to change that later given they have told us that it would be difficult because the slab for the double storey restricts entry into the ceiling later to do our own wiring (getting a sparky to do it obviously). other options are we put a junction box up there or we simply get them to put a downlight above it and be done with it... Is the builder installing a drop/false ceiling? or is it exposed concrete? You will be limited to what you can do if the latter is the case. However, if you install a Track light, you will be able to insert as many fittings as you like, and position the track as need be. This will give you the effect of downlights, but with extra versatility. I hope this helps Kind Regards, Kristin Lighting Expert Phone -1300 798 220 Email - service@golights.com.au Website - http://www.golights.com.au I'm curious, did they provide any reason why they did not like the idea? 1 2583 Hi Would love some advice on a DIY project I've dived into that's now keeping me up at night.
