That all said, many people do buy from the USA, and have their sparky install the gear to ensure safe installation. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: Using American lights and online suppliers 3Jan 18, 2015 8:58 pm Hi I've been tossing up if I should order from the below American website. I'm not sure if your lights can be found on this site but this site allows you to select the electrical fitting for Australia. The quote they emailed me also included free delivery. They also said the shipment included insurance so if any pendant was broken in transit they would replace it:-) http://www.luxuryeurolighting.com Re: Using American lights and online suppliers 4Feb 23, 2015 9:27 pm Thank you for the feedback. Dolphinblu I have previously checked out this website and the lights are fab but unfortunately not the ones I want. I do however like the option to convert to australian standard which would be fabulous. Hopefully I can find a supplier as the website I like does not undertake international shipping. Re: Using American lights and online suppliers 5Feb 24, 2015 8:14 pm Electrical equipment must be fitted with an Australian RCM (Regulatory Compliance Mark). Unfortunately the USA has decided to run with 120v 60Hz electrical system. Most of the rest of the world runs on either 220v, 230v or 240v 50Hz. It is not difficult to make a US luminaire work on Australia's 240v 50Hz system, but to make it safe and legal is another matter altogether unfortunately. Basic luminaires would be reasonably easy, but complex fittings or anything with integral transformers or LED drivers will be difficult. What I'd suggest is find some lights that you like and take the images/specs to a lighting supplier and have them find you something similar that is certified for use in Australia. Alternatively, post up some images of lights that you like and I might be able to point you in the right direction. All the best! Re: Using American lights and online suppliers 6Sep 28, 2015 10:00 pm I'm wondering if anyone knows where you can get lights like these, aside from schots as there's are a tad to industrial looking.
