Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 May 28, 2008 12:33 pm Has anyone had sconces installed on their walls? If so, how much did it cost and how difficult was it/how long did it take?
I’m envisioning 2 nice sconce lights on either side of the bed in the master suite, and another 2 sconces on either side of the vanity in the ensuite. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: How much does it cost to install sconce lights? 2May 28, 2008 12:44 pm A good question....one that I'll be asking my sparky in the next week or so....although I came across these which are battery LED....probably no good for reading or permanent lighting but for mood or occasional lighting....?

It was actually kinda freaky....all the top floor flats had manholes in the bathroom....so you could access any flat from the roof space.... which is why I put a padlock on it. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: How much does it cost to install sconce lights? 4May 31, 2008 11:24 am Just got a quote for some electrical work this morning....installation of two wall sconces with separate light switches is $240 for the pair.
Price may come down a little if the lights we supply come with their own switchs...which they probably do. Price is for a single storey house with access to the roof space and colorbond roofing - the latter makes it a bit harder than tiled roofing. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: How much does it cost to install sconce lights? 5May 31, 2008 11:36 am to_do_list Just got a quote for some electrical work this morning....installation of two wall sconces with separate light switches is $240 for the pair. That's a really good price I think...$240. I'd be open to that, BUT as I say, my place will be on the ground floor of a 3 storey apartment complex and I don't even know if there IS a proper roof space, as if you poke a hole in our ceiling, there'd only be a very thin area and then the upstairs neighbour's floor, wouldn't it? I know nothing of these things. I can't recall if I asked this here or somewhere else, or even if I got a reply (apologies for my immense vagueness. I am an old biddy in my mind even though I'm only 29), but do you have any idea how much it'd cost to replace the ceilings lights? I don't mean having to get into any ceiling void or roof area or anything, because the current lights are just those oyster shell type ones which I don't mind, but they're not my ideal type of one. I've found other oyster ones I like much more, so...they'd just need to be swapped over, you know? Surely this wouldn't require a heap of electrical work or access to the ceiling??
