I would like to make a 17 metre run of LED strip lights around the edge of my room.
I have already purchased 4 x 5m RGB 5050 60 LED's per metre rolls. They require 14.4 watts per metre.
I'm stuck with how to power them safely and evenly.
I know that 17 metres worth requires about 244.8 Watts (17 x 14.4Watts per metre).
Some people use multiple amplifies. However, I'm wondering whether a single power supply would be sufficient (such as a 360Watt 30Amp model).
If I use such a power supply, is it a matter of getting an electrician to split the current into 4 separate rolls of 5m strips. At the end, I would just trim off the extra 3m that I don't need.
Is it that simple or am I way off track?
