Lights embedded in concrete driveway - where to start?

Hi All,

My wife would like our new driveway to have lights embedded in it, something like this: http://synergylightingusa.com/tag/driveway-lights/ I'm not sure where to start looking for something like this - my builder and sparky don't seem terribly interested. I'm not sure that they guy who is going to pour concrete will know much either, but figure all three of them need to know something if I'm going to make this happen.

Are there people who specialise in this sort of thing? My gut tells me that I should resist the temptation to walk into Beacon lighting and ask them, but I can't think of any other options right now. Any suggestions? In Yarraville, Melbourne.

Cheers,
Dim
Sorry I can't help but what a great idea
Collingwood & Havit LEDs are suitable for this style of application. I believe you get the right sized poly pipe for the LED to fit into and set that into the concrete, then install the lights. The issue is the driver/s. Depending on the light, you may be able to fit them into the pipe, otherwise they need to be remotely installed.

I was planning on putting some into the side of my honed concrete alfresco and this is how we were going to do it, it's also how we planned on doing it in the concrete pool wall. We didn't end up doing either though.

I prefer the Collingwood lights personally, I have a few of their LEDs going around the house.
Hey colebatchd,

Just came across your question. I drove past a house the other night and it looked like they had done lights embedded in the concrete. I like things like that because it's hard to coordinate so most houses wouldn't have it and therefore unique.

So... Did you end up doing it?
Make sure you get something strong. Most good quality inground uplights come with a plastic housing that you place in the concrete as it's being poured, then the lights fix in to the housing.
Try some of these Domus products
