Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jul 29, 2013 4:05 pm Hi all, I'm loving this light fitting : But as Australia has now moved away from incandescent globes to CLFs & LEDs........I can't find a globe that both looks good ie oldstyle and is a CFL or LED. Would you be happy with an old style shaped globe that is in fact an LED, like this one, for the above pendant ? Have a look at the Philips Australia Lighting website. I was having a look earlier and did see both CFL and LED globes with an E27 base in roughly that shape. Re: Which E27 globe for this light fitting ? 3Jul 30, 2013 7:38 am thanks Bels ........checked out the website but the globes are too short ie 97mm. They need to be about 1/2 the diameter of the orb ie about 120mm or another 3 to 4 cm longer. I'm fairly certain they have rustic looking bulbs in CFL and/or LED. We deal with Oriel ourselves, so please feel free to get in touch with us if you are having trouble navigating through their site. We would love to help. I asked how much energy they use while picking up some LED downlights and was surprised. Must be a conspiracy by the eleco companies to get us all used to using more energy again. No it's just a trend that's been set by interior designer who have absolutely no idea what good lighting design is (that's most of them to be honest...) These guys have LED versions of the old filament edison/squirrel cage lamps http://www.fatshackvintage.com.au/colle ... ight-bulbs Can't vouch for quality or performance as I have never used them or seen them in the flesh Building Services Engineer Renovating our 1960's modernist home in Brisbane https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=82091 Re: Which E27 globe for this light fitting ? 7Nov 16, 2015 9:21 pm Hi I work at Beacon lighting and we have a globe exactly this shape in a Karbon filament globe that looks amazing.
