Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Mar 27, 2013 9:10 pm Hi! I need to finalise my electrical tomorrow and I badly needed help to have a look on my plan. I am open to feedback and input. Need second opinion, please. Also, i intend to put a wall light above my vanity mirror. Can someone advise if this is ok. Or would the downlight above a basin is a better option? Also is my lighting in the kitchen adequate? I intend to add downlights under my overhead cupboard. Would it be useful? A reply would be greatly appreciated. Need some feedback on my electrical plan 2Mar 28, 2013 10:27 am Hope you see this before it’s too late. Have a couple of suggestions. a. Remotes for bedroom fans, who wants to crawl out of bed at 2am to turn off a fan. b. 2 way switch to rear exit door in garage c. 2 way switch for light outside rear garage door d. Would make front hall 3 way switch, extra one on right wall as you enter hall. You will need a good light near your bathroom mirrors, I have used downlights and fluoros in different builds and both were OK. Some people recommend you put the light beside the mirror? Your kitchen will probably not get much natural light so with just one light between the bench and island make sure you have adequate light over the sink so you’re not working in shadows. I would probably put strip LED lighting under the overheads Regards, Grumbles Re: Help! Need some feedback on my electrical plan 4Mar 30, 2013 2:43 pm Thanks grumblebum54, the garage 2 way switch makes sense, actually. Have not through about it. I came back to my consultant with few questions and additions, therefore, we have not firmed up the plan yet. I am hoping to get a a reply by tuesday. So if anyone can still point to me anything that I missed from my plan or how can I improve it, I still can change it (worst case is I pay for admin charges for another variation on the plan). I intend to add a sort of pendant on island bench with multiple lights. The staff form light shop told me it just require a single light point. Do you think that is enough to provide good lighting in the kitchen? I want to put a downlight under the overhead cupboard in the kitchen. And an oyster light in the middle between kitchen and island bench. Also, would the fan light provide a good lighting in the bedroom? Need some feedback on my electrical plan 5Mar 31, 2013 9:22 am Do you have any outside sensor lighting ? Also, although we had a fan/light in each bedroom - we put a light directly above where the bedhead would be. We also have 2 light/heat/fan "'tastics" in each bathroom/ensuite and a good extractor fan in laundry. We had dimmers on most inside "sets" of lights and on the alfresco lights - for atmosphere. As we are planning a pool we also got them to put in a pool electrics box in the right spot - for later. Re: Help! Need some feedback on my electrical plan 6Apr 02, 2013 8:49 pm Any advice if I need to add more lights in the kitchen? I added 2x down-lights under the overhead cupboard. I am worried if I am would be getting enough light with the existing light point in the plan?
