Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Feb 18, 2013 12:05 pm Hi all, Our house is due for completing next month. We started shopping already for lights especially the exterior ones. We are overwhelmed with the choices available and it is also very difficult to picture how it looks once installed. Are you able to post pictures up of your exterior lighting ? It would be very much appreciated. Re: Exterior Fascade Wall Lightings 2Feb 20, 2013 12:22 am Hello! I unfortunately don't have pictures to share, but I have also been doing some research into outside lights Of course it's very overwhelming if you don't stick to a few things.. A - what will your facade look like? Is it modern and squareish, Japanese influenced? Traditional? B - what is your style? What style are you going for inside the home? C- what mood do you want to create? An old fashioned style light will set a different tone to an ultramodern one. It would also probably look a bit odd on an ultramodern facade. Or do you want things a bit funky ecclectic and odd? I personally really love Spanish house styles (think red roofs, predominately white facades, arches, lots of wrought iron detailing and wooden beams) and I will be putting some of these Spanish influences into th facade and interior as well as landscaping, etc, so I'm looking for fixtures that have a wrought iron look to them, this makes it so much easier when looking through tons of options also, within wrought iron I could go very ornamental or more pared down. I'm leaning towards more simple as I also like clean simple lines. If you're not sure what you like, look at your clothes. What do you like to wear? Research online home deign blogs and sites (houzz has a great app), Pinterest is absolutely fantastic source, too If you aren't super fussed about it, ask a sales associate for a classic style to go with you facade and they will help you out !
