Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jan 16, 2013 4:46 pm Hi Everyone, After our visit to the light shop we have had an additional type of light suggested that I hadn't thought of. We are mainly looking at LED downlights for our extension but in the hallway we wanted something less bright and the bloke in the lighting shop suggested a 2W LED recessed wall light, similar to recessed stair lights. They would only be used in two places, one just inside our bedroom door which has a 2 meter hallway that leads to our bedroom proper and also in the hallway outside the kids rooms and near the toilet. I'm wondering whether anyone has any of these recessed wall/stair lights and how much light they actually put out? How high would they need to be installed off the floor level? Re: Recessed Wall Lights? 2Jan 16, 2013 6:26 pm I have them and sunshine T has them. I have a 4 watt which is ample..she got 2 watt (they didnt do 2 watt at the time, otherwise i would have got them) we have 3, one in hall where kids are, one in other hall (we have a T shapped house) where 16 yr old is, (doesnt need it so we dont turn it on) and one in the family/ kitchen / dining area one is ample at 4 watts in family area. we have them about 30 cms above the floor THEY ARE BRILLIANT we didnt get the sensor ones, we control them with a flick of a switch Re: Recessed Wall Lights? 3Jan 16, 2013 6:32 pm kiwi I have them and sunshine T has them. The ones I was shown today are 2 watt, 90mm square LED panels. I've googled and can't find anything similar to what the bloke showed me today. Do you mind if I ask where you got yours? So you basically use them as night lights? Re: Recessed Wall Lights? 4Jan 16, 2013 6:48 pm I got them from lighting direct, which uses beacon lighting I think. I got oblong, but sunshine got square. I use them as I go to bed and turn the lamps off. they are on all night as we have 5 kids. i often hear someone up...and no big hall lights need to go on and blind anyone, cos these babies are enough. good as a night light if you have kids who are scared of the dark too...so not just useful for the loo visits (or the midnight snack visits) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and on..ha ha Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ an idea?? better in real life Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ mine were about $52 NZD I think each, incl bulb Re: Recessed Wall Lights? 6Jan 16, 2013 8:43 pm Ask sunshine t on her thread to show you her lights.
