Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Nov 08, 2012 8:40 am Hi I am currently building a house and will be fitting off in a month or so, so I am in the process of fine-tuning my lighting plan then will look at purchasing all of my lights. I have 2.7m ceiling throughout except for the open plan living area containing kitchen, lounge and dining which has a racked ceiling from 2.7 to a maximum height of 3.4m at the top of the apex and am wondering if I have selected the most beneficial LED lights to get sufficient lighting for this ceiling height? - I am thinking about using Brightgreen D1000 for the living area with the racked ceiling (10 in total for this area) and 6x for the deck (this is approx 9m x 3.6m) all on dimmers (I am using saturn series and am hoping the new clipsal 31E2PUDM will work ok for these lights) - For the Laundry, Bathroom, toilet, ensuite, hallways, entrance and porch I am looking at the CREE 15W 60degrees in the cool white. - For the Theatre room and Main Bedroom (4x in each room) I am looking at the CREE15W 60 Degrees in the Warm White. - for the spare Bedrooms 2,3 & 4 I am looking at using Atom15W 90 Degrees in the Warm White. - For under the eves above the garage door externally I plan on putting three downlights (for aesthetics more than anything) and am looking at using Genesis16 13W 40degrees in Warm White, this section of roof is racked and the highest light will be about 5 or so meters from the ground whilst the lowest one will be around 2.7m, I hope this doesnt look silly. Thanks for your feedback, cheers. I know there is a Brightgreen iphone app that can give you recommendations for how many lights you need after giving it the room dimensions. Obviously it will only give their products and throw Cree out the window but could be worth a look. If you're already considering some Brightgreen lights that may not be an issue. FWIW I rate the brightgreen lights. Struggling to find a chandelier with LED globe replaceable without any LED diver for my U-shaped staircase.
