We found a range of low voltage LED lights that we just had to have. They are stainless steel and crystal and were amazingly cheap considering they look so nice???? great find, p! [sneakersss] Re: New Exterior Light Range 3Mar 31, 2008 3:16 pm nice lights - what brand are they? After 4 years - we're in! Re: New Exterior Light Range 4Mar 31, 2008 3:29 pm hey stonecutter, they are from Commercial Electric.
They were only $59.98 each for the wall mounted ones and $54.95 for the bollard style. They are working on a website at the moment, but all info will be in the next month or so at : http://www.commercialelectric.com.au Re: New Exterior Light Range 5Mar 31, 2008 3:37 pm Crystal???? $54.95?????
P, did you tap them to see if it was crystal? I sell lights for the same price and they are glass…….mmmmmm ??????? Very nice lights though, not matter what they are made of. Good find !!! P, did you tap them to see if it was crystal? I sell lights for the same price and they are glass…….mmmmmm ??????? Very nice lights though, not matter what they are made of. Good find !!! They are definitely not plastic,i tapped them at the show to make sure.... I'm looking at the box now, it reads "Heads: Dual square layered crystal glass" The LED's are a white colour. Hopefully they look nice on the house....time will tell. But it was one of those things where i looked at it and said. "That it...that's what i want!!!" so we got it....as is usually the case anyway!!! Re: New Exterior Light Range 7Mar 31, 2008 7:08 pm Good to see the low voltage and non spotlight approach P.
If they are not glass there can be issues with them changing colour due to UV light exposure to acrylics. LED's available off the shelf - ahh at last Steve Re: New Exterior Light Range 8Apr 01, 2008 9:03 am LOL - P, we must have similar taste! We also were impressed by these lights, although these 2 are 12V and require a transformer, which for us would mean running the cord up the inside of the brick pillar and sitting the transformer in the roof (of the portico). The others on display were all 240V and there were the up-down lights in LED's that were not too bad and at approx $30ea from Bunnings they were pretty good!

(tick) one more thing off the list!!! Hi Nicola, I just want to ask feedbacks about the LED lighting you used? Its lovely and exactly what I was eyeing for. Any concern with it? I hope installation is not a pain... Do hope to hear your feedbacks... cheers, Hannah Re: New Exterior Light Range 10Nov 15, 2008 11:33 pm Hi Hannah, hmmm well all i can say is they looked good but didnt perform as well as i thought they would.
The lights didnt give enough throw to be a feature light at all. We ended up going the stainless steel round shaped halogen type to be able to get the beams that throw light up and down instead. They looked good on the display though... Might end up using them around the back of the house on the alfresco piers just for show, not for any particular effects though....just not practical as feature lights.... Re: New Exterior Light Range 11Nov 15, 2008 11:37 pm Phoenix
do you remember me posting some photos a few months ago about these lights??? Well they were similar anyway. I wonder if they are the same as they were more expensive than your ones. Perhaps just lighting shop markup. I also found an online supplier who had posted his web site here who had the littler square ones for sale as well. I was eyeing them off for the lights on our garage.. I think they are lovely. http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=7922&highlight=light [url}https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=8886&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0[/url] and in this one i mentioned They stock this light ( on pg 2 of exterior lights) http://www.superlight.com.au/ I'm pretty excited that they are sometimes in bunnings. I like the taller one too. Its a bit nicer than the bigger version I'd found. I hadn't seen them in our local one when we looked there. I ll have to have another look now. A big sad to hear they don't give off a lot of light as they do look beautiful. I was wondering how much light they threw off. Perhaps they need to be a small feature light somewhere for " atmosphere" rather than practicality. what a shame. Oo I don't think they are the same as the ones I was looking at were not DIY and I don't think they needed a transformer. hmm It was a while back though. Re: New Exterior Light Range 13Nov 16, 2008 8:55 am Yoweee Stonecutter. When I spotted them on their website they were on special which was why i was really excited. Looking at the download pdf for them from Phoenix's posting the detail on glass section looks slightly different close up.
I followed what was a link to the Superlight store ones and it doesn't look like they've got them anymore. I have that thought as well. I do need to shop around still as I need external lights that would have more "brightness" than the LED ones. I guess LEDs may take a couple of years to be more functional than decorative as they're very promising. cheers, Hannah Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this. PS was actually 2008 I built the… 2 11694 That was always going to be a challenge and a test of patience. Full marks to your mate. Did you discuss the wet area near the trampoline? 16 17361 It might be a bit darker in the mornings but the light is still light, so you should be getting it.
