These are sooooo beautiful. LOL....sorry! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: New range from Clipsal! 42Jun 20, 2008 5:22 pm ![]() Hey, has anyone bought anything from the Saturn range as yet, or found out any pricing? I've located a seller on ebay and the single gang in Ocean Mist is $31 (buy it now) and dbl power pt is $43 (buy it now). I wanted to check if that pricing was competitive or not? Anyone know? ![]() ![]() See my post at the top of this page. Those prices didn't include GST, and you'd likely need to pay for postage buying from eBay, so probably about the same price in the end... Re: New range from Clipsal! 43Jun 20, 2008 5:49 pm I'm sorry Independant Inspector, i must have totally missed your post back in April. Thanks so much for putting up those prices. ![]() ![]() Re: New range from Clipsal! 44Jun 20, 2008 6:43 pm Wish we'd been offered these at our electrical appt......... actually, maybe I don't!!!! PD Prestige use all the Clipsal stuff, though, and it's all done on the Clipsal computer system at your electrical appt (but we did that way back in August last year, so these hadn't been released by the looks of it) Oh, well, one more expense saved... ![]() Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: New range from Clipsal! 46Aug 23, 2008 2:55 pm It curious the respose people have to the Saturn range... I actually think they're going to date very quickly, especially with the glass plates and chrome highlights.
The Reflection series (brushed metal, square buttons) seems to have more longevity... and no chrome! Each to his own, eh? Re: New range from Clipsal! 47Sep 03, 2008 9:51 pm Another price update (same wholesaler as per my post in April)...
Double power point = $41 ($1 cheaper than in April) 2-gang push-button switch (looks like standard size) = $40 ($4 dearer than in April). I must say I've never seen any installed anywhere... Probably too expensive for most people, and I haven't been inspecting in the eastern suburbs since last year (that would be one of the few areas of Sydney able to afford them)... Re: New range from Clipsal! 48Jan 08, 2009 12:20 am Found this thread in April 08 after the home expo. Dug it out in October when I bought some of the saturn switches but never got around to joining to post some photos.
Been reading the site a lot over the Christmas break (annual leave) trying to get some motivation to get a bit done around the house. So far I've only cleaned, filled, sanded & painted the bathroom. Pulled out a single sink then installed double in Kitchen. A lot more planned, little of it achieved so far. Now back to the switches. Doubles for ENTRY & KITCHEN (the 2 shown in first pics) Double for LOUNGE. And a single gang at the back of the dining area for OUTSIDE (wont refer to it as alfresco or outdoor entertaining area cos we do neither. From memory, 2 gang PUSH BUTTON with LED's cost us $44ea 1 gang PUSH BUTTON with LED was $36 They are cheaper if you don't want the LED. Switches with the LED can be wired up 1 of 4 ways; -LED ON when the swith is ON (we have this) -LED ON when the swich is OFF ("eyes") ![]() -LED ALWAYS ON (both above but you still get eyes) -LED ALWAYS OFF (pointless as most can be bought without LED $5 cheaper) A small wire included at the back of the switch + instructions show how to do this. Cost me $120 to have the 4 switches installed which included running 2 neutral wires for the LED's to work (2 already had neutrals) All up approx $280. If you stand in our dining area all 4 switches are in view. It gave the area a cleaner more modern look. The electrician said his son has them in his house with LED ON when the switch is OFF. He said it looks magic with the lights out watching TV and almost had us doing a mid-install change of mind. But, as I've mentioned above all 4 switches can be seen from the 1 spot (with a turn of the head) and I thought it may be overkill of blue LED "eyes" Glad I went with my first instinct as I'm very happy with the subtle blue look as shown in my first post and I don't like the LED EYE look below. (plus the blue LED novelty wears off, switches still look great though) Just for the sake of curiosity I'll add a pic of LED ON when the switch is OFF. Great for finding switches in the dark but you'll see why i referred to it as "LED EYES" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: New range from Clipsal! 51Jan 08, 2009 2:55 pm Thanks for posting those pictures. Our best friend is a eleco and got us prices for the switches / gangplates for our new home. Now just to decide what rooms to use them in ![]() Some things are worth waiting for. Re: New range from Clipsal! 54Jan 11, 2009 8:18 am ![]() They do look uber cool. ![]() Can you mount them flush with the wall?. They look like they stick out a bit. They do stick out but it's part of the design and they look good. I have them in the units. Ed Re: New range from Clipsal! 57Jan 22, 2009 12:28 am I've costed up my upgrade for the Saturn's.. around $900 worth.
will be swapping the main GPo's in kitchen and bathrooms where ppl will actually see them and swapping all main light points in the house to either single or double Saturn's. They do look quite nice and clean and the LED would be ideal as those have said, for finding light switches at night. Re: New range from Clipsal! 59Jan 30, 2009 11:23 pm I just discovered this range today at the Clipsal showroom...omg aren't they just delish??
I would love to put them through the whole house, and even though my BIL is a sparky, the cost to do will blow out our budget. So l've settled on having them for the kitchen, (maybe dining & living) bathroom and ensuite. ![]() Hi Firstyme, I just came back from my first meeting with Glenvill at their Waverley Rd display home.
