Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Sep 19, 2012 2:52 pm Hi Guys, Our build is about to get underway and I am looking for some light fittings to be installed after it is built. I have found so far that the online lighting stores have a fair bit more variety compared to what I have found in the actual stores. So, I am wondering if folks out there have bought their light fittings online and which online store did you use. I have found a few online lighting stores already but am really after some recommendations from those who have used them as to which websites are the best in terms of price, reliability, variety etc. Thanks Heaps all Re: Recommended online lighting stores please! 2Sep 20, 2012 9:11 pm Bought 1 light from: http://www.northernlighting.com.au/default.aspx The light fitting was ~$8 to ship, and I wanted to see if it looked as good as the photos. It took approx a week to arrive or less Bought 10 more from http://www.electricalproducts.com.au/ I'm waiting to see how long it takes, the above site has a capped shipping of $15, Nortern Lighting shipping cost is per-item. Re: Recommended online lighting stores please! 3Sep 21, 2012 8:17 am I bought lights from Da Voluce Lighting, Matt Blatt and Clickon furniture all online. I was very happy with the lights and they arrived promptly. Postage was not cheap from the last two though. I actually regretted not buying all my lights online because all the lights I bought from a walk-in lighting store took a couple of weeks to be delivered. And the builder was not happy. Re: Recommended online lighting stores please! 9Oct 11, 2012 12:56 pm Thanks all for your suggestions, I have looked at all the sites suggested so far. Mica lighting has a showroom in melbourne (they just opened it in the last few months apparently) which is good so we went to have a look. They don't have a massive range on display when compared to their website but we found a few we really liked. Any other recommended online lighting shops out there please let me know.. Thanks Re: Recommended online lighting stores please! 10Oct 11, 2012 1:40 pm I have bought one light from lucretia lighting (I purchased via ebay but they also have their own online store. Their showroom is in Boronia and their warehouse is in Dandenong South) and was really impressed. A replica designer fitting cost me $105 delivered. How do they look? On e-bay all their pictures show them used for display, wall & retail display lighting. Are they sufficient to replace general lighting which I presume your old Halogen's were for? Re: Recommended online lighting stores please! 16Nov 10, 2012 12:33 pm They look like 50 watt halogen downlight bulb (I paid $29 for one 10W led in local lighting shop) but 3 leds and replacing bulb in a downlight is easy, straight swap in few seconds. Just have to decide warm white or cool white. Warm is better for ambience, cool is better for office or reading. You can have some of each according to area use.
