I'm an electrician by trade, and can tell you from experience that it doesn't matter in the slightest if you hard wire the driver to the electrical cable. LED's are designed to last for many years, therefore won't require maintenance. Yes, there may be the odd faulty one, but it'll be covered under warranty, and the electrician can swap it over in no time. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask here.
