The warm white was really very yellow, even more so than the yellow colour light that halogen lights throw out. They have a you tube video online you can watch that shoes the 3 colours of the led lights and the brightness of them Building again . . with Redink Pre-start 04/12 Keys - 03/13 Finishing off. . . I originally had my heart set on Brightgreen D900's but I am really glad I checked out the Wattsaver stuff myself before spending any money. Absolutely impressed with the DL7-1400's in natural white. Will be getting my fittings painted the same colour as the ceiling and also adding diffused glass. I really liked the fact that he had the Brightgreen D900 and regular halogen lights there as well for comparison. These have to be one of the best bang for buck lights on the market. Excellent good to know. I actually prefer the look of the wattsavers over the brightgreens. I think the bright greens are ugly lol. Can't wait, this has solidified our decision to buy. I prefer the warmth of warm white, makes the room feel more welcoming. Hence why restaurants use warm white. Natural white is much better than cool white, but still too clinical to me. I wanted warm white for the bathrooms also, but my wife prefers natural white. Since she uses the bathroom more than I do, then it's a good compromise. The colour of warm white isn't as yellow as halogen, I've tested them in the same room. Anyway, it's all personal choice. Re: Incandescent & halogen downlights?? 85Mar 29, 2013 8:47 am MissEm JB1 Ordered 24 DL7 1400s after trailing the warm white and natural white. Going warm white in kitchen and living rooms and natural white in the bathroom. 3 week wait on my order. Can I ask your reasons for the warm white / natural white choices??? Maybe because makeup and hair is done in the bathroom and the natural light will be the best type for accurate colour portrayal? HD Re: Incandescent & halogen downlights?? 87Mar 29, 2013 9:11 pm Good to see people are liking the Wattsavers as much as we do So glad we spent the extra time buying samples back in July 2012 whilst we were building and trialling them before making our lighting decision. We shared our thoughts on Homeone back then and remember it created lots of discussions back the, good to see people are still doing the same. Been living in our new house 6 months now and really happy we chose them. We have DL7's and D9's in natural white. I emailed them very early on in our build to get an idea of cost for the budget and was told that they charge for lighting design. We don't want a "fancy" light design as such, just want to know how many downlights we need. I have had local lighting shops do up plans and quotes for me so do have a idea on how many we need. However, from what I have read, the Wattsavers far outperform other downlights in term of brightness and coverage so does that mean we need less of them compared to other LED downlights? If the Wattsavers are brighter wouldn't you need less?? Our bedrooms that are 4m x 3m we are only putting the 1 light in as 2 will be way to bright for a bedroom and I didn't want to put them on dimmers Building again . . with Redink Pre-start 04/12 Keys - 03/13 Finishing off. . . Can't bloody wait You will not regret it. These lights are amazing. They are soooo bright and dim without the slightest hint of a flicker. Worth every cent And I should say a big thanks to delatite who was really the 'guinea pig' for this thread with regards to the wattsavers Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. Whilst trolling the net one night I came across these by as H/Potter would say " sheer dumb luck". We have had ours in now about 8 months and are really happy with what we got. While LED's are not cheap, compared to others of similar output, I think they are of greater value. I'm really glad that you think the same of them. One thing I really found of value was having both 70mm and 90mm. Meant we could have less lights in a larger area due to the light size. Saves money!!
