I'm assuming due to the new BCA that they have to be primarily LED??? Thanks!! Re: Carlisle HomesVIC LED Downlight Options and Cost 3May 23, 2012 4:07 pm Under the new BCA guides your lights can't use any more than 5 watts of power per square metre. For an easy example, in a 10 square metre house you could only have 1 traditional 50watt halogen downlight, however you could install 5 10watt LEDs (LEDs that can be retrofitted after halogens are 10 watts). In a new build however I would install fully integrated LED downlights. these use about 16 watts, but provide over 900 lumens of light (brightness), while halogens provide 720lm. With the extra brightness provided by intergrated LEDs, you will easily comply. The integrated fittings seem to work a little better than retrofits. Hope that somewhat helps. So I am now doing my due diligence and… 0 3825 |
