Hi Guys,
Having a tough time deciding what downlights to purchase for my new home, as i need at least 45 downlights in total, i have to get it right!
Basically the choice comes down to what type: Low Voltage vs. High Voltage.
Low Voltage - MR16 Fitting
Advantage:
Runs cooler
Slightly cheaper lights
More reliable
Disadvantage:
Requires external transformer
Required replacement of transformer with LED driver if fitting with LED
High Voltage - GU10 Fitting
Advantage:
-Does not require extra transformer
Disadvantage:
-Transformer in globe, globe gets hotter
I think i will go ahead with low voltage fittings (MR16).
The shops i have been looking at are:
LED Central

Mica United

Online Lighting

Lighting Illusions

My question is , has anyone purchased LED downlight kits from any online shops and have been happy with the light output compared to a halogen?
