Although the lights are evenly spaced etc...we want to put ceiling fans in ( 1 in family and 2 in lounge) - if we put the fans in between the lights so that the blades dont go under the lights - they are not technically central to the room - does this matter..?? which way should it be..central in the room and blades under lights, or central between the lights and not technically central in the room ?? Re: FANS IN MIDDLE OF ROOM OR MIDDLE OF LIGHTS 2Dec 07, 2011 7:42 pm I would centre the set of downlights in the centre of the room and I would centre the fan in the centre of the room. Normally a room has two rows of downlights per room, so centre is easy. If however, there are three rows of downlights (say 3 x 3 for a very large room) then a central fan would be a problem. But then I've never seen 3 rows of downlights yet. It is not that straightforward...the rooms are alongside each other and staggered, so to keep the rows in line with each other and make sure that one row is actually along the front of the kitchen walkway etc etc.. we have 3 rows in the kitchen - 3 in the family room although they are staggered so that the family room has one extra at the front and doesnt have the back one that is in the kitchen.,.and there are 4 rows in the lounge ( 24 lights in all) so trying to get everything looking pleasing to the eye is hard.....
