Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Oct 02, 2011 3:56 pm Hi All, I am thinking of two of these over my dining table. Saw them in a Pub the other day and thought they were interesting. I did not realise they were milk bottles until closer inspection. The dining area is of a reasonable size and will be above a 10 seater table. Thoughts?? Didn't want to say anything about the fitting because it's not my 'cup of tea' Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Thoughts on this over my dining table - Like it, Hate it 7Oct 02, 2011 9:02 pm Could be heavy? Importing it from USA? Clean all those bottles? Probably looks good hanging from a high ceiling - not sure about domestic heights. I love pub carpets, but they don't usually suit houses. Re: Thoughts on this over my dining table - Like it, Hate it 8Oct 03, 2011 1:06 am Thanks for the input. They supply the bottles, but I am sure finding volunteers to change to long-necks would not be hard. The cost for 2 will be USD300. The ceiling height will most likely be hopefully around 3.5m as I have asked the builder to consider a split level for the living, dining, kitchen, theater to take advantage of the lie of the block. The dining area is about 4.5M by 5M so 2 hanging lights will be needed in any event. I haven't seen much that peaks my interest, but not sure if it will work in the space. I am intending of having a creamy travertine/ marble floor and very plain tones. I really don't know anything about this sort of thing to be honest. Cheers for the comments. Mark Re: Thoughts on this over my dining table - Like it, Hate it 9Oct 03, 2011 4:37 pm I think these are great - they would throw beautiful shadows and are unique. Would be a great talking point in a house! They aren't a bad price either, although is the shipping going to be expensive?
