Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jul 11, 2011 10:02 pm Hey stylists, help me choose some suitable silver/chrome pendant lights for my kitchen. The house is new but classic. 1/2 strength Natural White 2pac and blanco artico granite. I need 3 to hang over the bench top which is 3 m long and I am having trouble deciding. I like silver josephine t pendants but they are too big for this spot. Re: Island bench lighting 4Jul 11, 2011 10:23 pm These arent the Josephines you like but Complete Pad has something similar and cheaper for a set of 4 http://www.completepad.com/shopping3.aspx?cat_id=0&subcat_id=258&product_id=7997 __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All new built homes look like display homes... until the furniture goes in. Re: Island bench lighting 5Jul 11, 2011 10:50 pm Yep know them well, saw them in About Space not long ago. They are even bigger than the Josephine T's. The style is perfect just too big for this space, it will eat it up. Alibaba, Modern2020 and alot of factories in China make thses replicas now. Re: Island bench lighting 6Jul 12, 2011 9:12 am God I love that granite have you thought of putting just two of something really special in rather than the usual three, and something in clear glass so it doesn't compete with the granite. I have one of these lights below in my powder room and as much as they are unusual and some may think over-the-top for a kitchen (not I), because they are clear crystals they don't have a heavy look and when they're on they're even more beautiful. Also depends on what other lighting you have nearby as to what you choose. not sure if it's a wow factor or not Question are you happy with your kitchen mixer/veg spray I like the concept.. Re: Island bench lighting 8Jul 12, 2011 11:00 am Hi eager, Love the second photo - very sleek and unobstrusive. Chrome/burshed Chrome is very nuetral as it can blend with many other colours. I too was planning to put task lighting, but personally, I would go for in ceiling downlights in burshed chrome. My reason for this is to prevent any visual bariers. Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them. Re: Island bench lighting 9Jul 12, 2011 6:40 pm Suh, they look like 'Krysta'. Nice lights but too modern. You can't see the kitchen table next to the bench but it's french farmhouse table with ladderback rush chairs so we need to keep it classic contemporary if we can. The Krysta lights are not the right style. I have downlights every where else in this room. Oh, check out lightinthebox for the veggie spray. It's ok and a very good price but it's not Gessi quality! Re: Island bench lighting 11Jul 12, 2011 7:13 pm I already have three downlight holes cut out in the plaster. The builder cut them out thinking I was going to have more downlights. So I will stick to 3 pendants. I will keep looking. thanks keep posting suggestions you decorators. Have to say the range is pretty woeful, and expensive. Does anyone know of some good lighting shops that don't cost the earth, been to all the chains etc and have been underwhelmed.
