Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 4Jan 01, 2011 9:19 pm I have a pendant, I can't remember the exact name but I think it's made by Mercator. from memory we paid about $350. we have another in the same room (open plan living/dining). I love chandeliers but the rest of our decor is not fancy so I thought these would go better with the rest of it. I do love them. It's like the fabric drum pendants you see only it's made of glass & chrome. edit: I googled and found the name: Versa by Mercator Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. One that adjusts and lowers up and down. I'll try to find it online and link to it. Not sure yet on the "formal dining" because we are making it a library. It's opposite the "formal lounge" so I feel like it needs to match somehow. I will be going for a modern chandelier for the "formal lounge" Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 6Jan 02, 2011 9:06 am I will have a chandelier in the formal dining room (it's currently under the stairs in a box!). I will get a sparky to put up most of my lights all in one go when I finish buying them! The rest of the area will have downlights. We deliberately designed our main living area so that it was large and open with the option of having the dining room table in front of the island bench or to the right hand side (it is nice to have the option and will depend on the size and shape of dining room table we end up with) As a result we don't have a designated 'dining area'. If our design had a designated dining area I'm sure I probably would have had a pendant there. I am having pendant drum lights in my boys rooms and I couldn't resist a chandelier for the entrance and master bedroom. Hopefully they will be going up some time this month! Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 8Jan 09, 2011 11:57 am We bought ours from Lighting International on clearance for arund $280. This one was for our living area, and we bought a smaller one for above the dining table. Really happy with the look both in the day time and night. We also have some downlights around it aswell, as we hve a recessed ceiling. Never used them in our last house. So our living / dining / kitchen area is all one big open area. We can also change the location of the dining / living area same as PP. For that reason we have downlights everywhere with three hanging lights over the island. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 17Feb 09, 2011 1:56 pm Stonecutter, I love your lights. They really are beautiful. I normally dont like chandalier types, but love, love yours, especially your void one. OMG it is amazing. Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 18Feb 09, 2011 2:26 pm How and how often do you clean your void chandelier stonecutter? Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 19Feb 09, 2011 2:40 pm We aren't big on old fashioned chandeliers either but they are just great. blueblueblue - the wires are teflon coated and the crystals don't have a charge - so technically they shouldn't attract dust or require cleaning for 8-10 years. The harder part is changing lightglobes! But the chandelier is attached to a winch in the ceiling to lower it down so we can get access. Had to get the rig custom made - a huge job but totally worth it! After 4 years - we're in! Re: Do you have a pendant light or chandelier in yr dining r 20Feb 09, 2011 2:44 pm Wow.
