We want to have CFL downlights (will be 20watt) in this space, however are a bit unsure how to arrange the lights. We want to have each of the two areas switched separately, and there will be a fan in roughly the middle of the room. We will have a dimmer switch on each of the sets of lights. Would like to hear your thoughts or suggestions. Reason I say this is, the size of the table, layout of the room and even the colour of the decor (light or dark) will influence the effectiveness of the lighting installed. If you have dimmers installed, you could put two rows of lights in along the long end of the room and have 3-5 pairs of lights, depending on how much you want to spend or what look you're going for.
